September to December 7:00 - 7:30 Plus Teach

January - April 7:00 -7:30 Rounds Teach Phase Three

Caller: Steve Edlund

Steve began square dancing as a teenager with the rest of the neighbourhood kids as they joined their parents at the Surrey Square Wheelers. He tried calling at a Goofers' Night, and the rest, as they say, is history. As a member of the Wesburn Wranglers he won the Senior Champion at the Pacific Northwest Teen Square Dance Festival.

It is a particular pleasure to have later called for the Wesburn Wranglers for 18 years, as well as the Abbotsford Swinging Hubs, Lochdale, and Silver Saddles Square Dance Clubs. Presently Steve is still calling for the Royal Swingers (as he has for over 35 years) as well as the Surrey Square Wheelers, and the Abbotsford Swinging Hubs.

Square dancing has brought many opportunities to Steve and he has had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout North America, Sweden, and Japan. He has also called in San Jose, Costa Rica and Oslo, Norway. Currently, Steve is on the staff of Elite Records, based in Houston, Texas. Steve has been calling for over 35 years and wouldn't change a thing.

Steve lives in Surrey, British Columbia with his wife of 28 years, Lynnette and their 23-year-old daughter Kristen. Steve loves hockey, and has spent a number of years helping and coaching Kristen's hockey team, and appreciates the opportunity to play hockey with her during the summer. Steve also enjoys golfing, bike riding and kayaking with the whole family.

Cuer: Alison Hampton

Alison and Scott Hampton Cuer Couple

Both Alison and Scott began dancing as teenagers with the Wesburn Wranglers, Alison in 1986 and Scott in 1983.
Alison began as a competitive caller at the Pacific Northwest Teen Square Dance Festival at age 14, eventually winning a record 4 Senior Calling Championships. She began cueing at age 19, first at Wesburn, then eventually moving on to adult clubs. They became a cuer couple for Chuckwagon 8's in 1996 and Surrey Square Wheelers in 2003.

Scott and Alison married in 1997 and have two boys; Michael, born in 2000, and Jonathan, born in 2009. Both boys are members of Wesburn Wranglers, following in their parents' footsteps. Scott works full time as a heavy duty mechanic and Alison is a full-time student at Simon Fraser University.
Scott and Alison are happy they are carrying on the square dance traditions started by their parents and Scott's grandparents, this makes their boys 4th generation dancers.
